Bob Slay UV Blue Acrylic ATX Case by Mountain Mods:  Assembly

Once all the pieces were unpacked we set about assembling the Bob Slay case.

Each panel is attached via small clear acrylic blocks.  Each block has 3 threaded mounting holes.  The blocks come in 2 varieties which are mirror images of each other.
First we attached the front panel to the bottom of the case.
Our front panel has been modded with an additonal 5.25 opening and two 3.5 inch openings.

One trick we learned was to place an unused panel on the table in order to raise up the panel we were installing.
Next we attached the back panel.

The motherboard tray was to be inserted next.
It took us a few minutes to determine the correct orientation of the acrylic blocks, but eventually we figured it out.
Below is a picture of one of the blocks in the correct position.

Here are a couple pictures of the motherboard tray installed.
The mounting screws fit perfectly and were no problem.

Next we installed the Buttons and LEDs.
The wires for these components are of sufficient length to run underneath the motherboard tray and hide from view.

Here is a picture of the Backplane.
One great feature of the Bob Slay case is that the "Back" of the motherboard is actually on the right of the case.
This is an excellent advancement and makes it very easy to get at ones I/O  ports.

The left side and top panels went on easily.
These are the 2 panels that shall have the most wear as they typically both need to be removed often when adding in components.

Note that our left panel has been modded for us.
It has had two 120mm fan openings added to it.
The default Bob Slay left panel is just flat with no openings.

The acrylic blocks fit with Flat Head screws.  This seems a bit unusual as a flat head screwdriver is more prone to slip and scratch the acrylic than a Phillips head would be.  We had no problem though.
Since  the case is made of thick .25" acrylic, normal Thumb Screws shall not work to assemble it together.  Longer fan screws are also needed to attach any case fans added.  The Bob Slay comes with 8 longer fan screws.
