Logitech Dinovo Edge Keyboard:  Features

The Dinovo Edge has quite a few innovative features.
It boasts and extremely long battery life.  A 5 minute quick charge should last at least a day, and a full 2 hour charge is good for over 1 month of use.  If stored on its Charging stand such long battery life becomes nearly moot.
Using Bluetooth the response rate is excellent.
The keys are quite slim and about half-height.  The bottom row of keys, which includes the space bar, are slightly more raised than the other keys.

Along the left are flush buttons containing the Zoom keys, Sleep key, and an extra left mouse click button.
Along the right are the volume control and the TouchDisc.

The most striking features of this keyboard are the innovative volume control, and the round TouchDisc.
The volume control is touch sensitive and contains no moving parts.  As one slides ones finger up and down small lights follow the finger and the volume adjusts accordingly.  It is a very cool effect, and has been likened to a Star Trek type interface.
The TouchDisc is quite nice.  It has built in horizontal and vertical scrolling.  One just needs to rotate ones finger around the edge to scroll up and down, sort of like an iPod.
The TouchDisc has a softly glowing ring around it when used.  Left and Right buttons are positioned underneath it as well as a spare Left button on the left face of the keyboard.

The keyboard lacks a Numeric Keypad, instead using that space for the volume control and TouchDisc.
In addition, the typical multimedia buttons are removed and their functionality is embedded as a shift state of the normal Function Keys.  Their symbols are revealed in a softly glowing orange when the Fn shift button is pressed.  We really like having those buttons hidden in this fashion to avoid any accidental presses, and for aesthetic reasons.

Using the SetPoint software the User can reassign many of those keys to do various things like open a webpage, or correspond to a specific key press.

The Keyboard is about average size overall.  It is shorter than a Saitek Eclipse, but a bit deeper.
It is the same width as an IRocks KR-6810 EL keyboard with a keypad.

Here is a comparison of the depth.

The Dinovo Edge is very thin and easily portable.
Bluetooth wireless capability means it can be moved all about the workspace.
